‘Official': Are Minnesotans More Obsessed With Dogs or Cats?
This will surely lead to enlightened, civil debate.
With election season seemingly never-ending, and all the talking heads yapping about "red" states and "blue" states and "swing" states, it's time for real talk about the real issues affecting real Americans: do you live in a "dog" state or a "cat" state?
Is Minnesota a 'Dog' State or a 'Cat' State?
The nerds at Purina studied up on Google Trends data to afflict designate states as either a "dog" state or a "cat" state.
They found that Colorado is the most "dog-obsessed" state in the country, with Washington earning the title of the most "cat-obsessed" state.
So where did Minnesota land?
We're #6!
Minnesota is the sixth-most cat-obsessed state in the country; falling behind Washington (#1), Pennsylvania (#2), Oregon (#3), Ohio (#4), and Massachusetts (#5).
Rounding out the Top 10 Cat-Obsessed States are Indiana (#7), Wisconsin (#8, losers!), Michigan (#9), and...Colorado (#10).
For the Canine-Obsessers: the Top 10 states are Colorado (#1), Ohio (#2), North Carolina (#3), Florida (#4), Pennsylvania & Arizona (tied at #5), Illinois (#6), Indiana (#7), Utah (#8), Washington (#9), and California (#10).
With strong showings in both categories, Colorado and Washington have been dubbed (anointed?) the Most Pet-Obsessed States. Okay.
Minnesotans' Pet Google History
So what are we most-often Googling about our fur babies?
For our dogs: "Cute dog pictures".
For our cats: "I love my cat".
Huh?
Why are we searching "I love my cat"? Well, I took the hit on my colorful search history to check it out.
It seems to lead to ways that we can show our cats that we love them, as well as affirmations that it's not weird to love cats THAT much.
It's all good, as long as it's for the good of our pets.
