Again This Was The Most Popular Food Item at the MN State Fair This Year

Every year there is a list of new foods, new vendors and vendors that are leaving or staples that may not be back again the following year.

PEOPLE STILL HEADED TO THE FAIR DESPITE THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY

This year at the fair the weather was warm and humid.  It was even pushed a week because Labor Day was later this year than it is normally.  You might have thought that the weather would have been a bit cooler than it was.  But this entire summer has been warmer AND more humid than it has been in recent years.

The warm weather didn't seem to slow fairgoers.  They set a couple of attendance records this year.  So people were flocking to this year's fair, as they usually do.  No matter what the weather is. people will generally still hit the fair up for at least one day.

THERE WERE LOTS OF NEW FOODS TO TRY AT THE FAIR

This year there seemed to be an abundance of new food items.  From the dill pickle pie to apple fries, there was something new for almost any taste palate.

This year, one of the new vendors, as mentioned above, the Apple Fries were a huge hit!  They went through a couple thousand pounds of apples every day of the fair.  That's amazing! However, this was not the most popular item this year at the fair.

The most popular food item at the fair this year is something that has been a staple for years!  Also, the vendor that makes the most money throughout the fair - wihich goes along with being the most popular vendor at the fair.

THE MOST POPULAR FOOD ITEM - FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW IS...

Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar is the most popular vendor AGAIN this year at the Minnesota State Fair.  They sell millions of those little morsels they call cookies every year.  AND I never understand why they pile them so high.  At least a fourth of them fall on the ground. You cannot walk around either of the two location at the fair without finding smashed cookies on the ground.  It's so sad.  Cookies should be eaten, not falling on the ground for the pigeons.

The next most popular vendor was Pronto Pups (NOT corn dogs) and then the Mouth Trap Cheese Curds that are found inside the food building.  Always a must get for me on the years that we go to the fair.  I personally feel like any other cheese curd vendor pales by comparison.  But that's me.
