City in Minnesota in the Top 10 for Best Places to Retire

When people think about retirement, usually there is somewhere that you think about retiring to.  Like if you live in a cold climate, like Minnesota, many people when they retire will just make a permanent move, while others will choose the "snowbird" lifestyle.  That is where you live her for half the year, and somewhere warmer for the colder months.  That way you never have to move snow, or drive in icy conditions, etc.  At least that is the idea.  Not that some "warmer" places don't get some snow and ice from time to time, but it's usually less than here, and doesn't last for 7 months.  Yes, I know that's an exaggeration.

CHECK OUT THE STUDY THAT SAYS WHERE PEOPLE ARE MOST LIKELY TO RETIRE

Recently, Wallethub did a study looking at the best places to retire in the United States.  Four cities in the top 10 are all in Florida.  The top three cities are Orlando, Miami, and Tampa.  Then there is also Fort Lauderdale coming in at number 8.  Number 7 is Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Obviously, the people that want to retire in Minneapolis aren't bothered by the snow and ice, or they just want to be close to family all year round.

THERE WERE SEVERAL FACTORS TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION

Some of the factors that have been taken into consideration when determining what is a great place to retire would be what activities there are for retirees, walking areas, parks, taxes, and shops, restaurants, culture and quality of life.

It's surprising that there aren't more cities from California on the list given their usual weather.  However, California is also one of the most expensive places to live in the country.

HOW READY ARE YOU TO RETIRE WHEN THAT TIME COMES

People are less likely to retire early now days.  Only about 61% are somewhat confident that they will have enough money to retire with, while only about 21% are very confident that they will have enough money to retire comfortably.  So, that leaves the rest of us to try and figure out how to retire... somehow.
